Deck the Halls with Boughs of Holly. . .

Decorator Dru White got into the holiday spirit this week, spreading cheer at PAON.

"Rather than distributing decorations over a large area, I chose a focal point
and concentrated the decorations there," she said. "This produces impact."

"I chose traditional red, green and gold to create a comfort zone."

"There's something about anything that sparkles that makes people feel festive."

Dru has a unique way of making an environment both cozy and elegant.

"I went understated and earthy in the Wine Bar because of the earth-tone colors."

Join us in raising a toast to the holiday season in PAON's Wine Bar.

PAON's 1st Winemaker Dinner with Peter Modavi of Charles Krug Wines, Nov. 18, 2009

PAON Restaurant & Wine Bar was honored to have special guest Peter Mondavi (right) of the Charles Krug Winery at its first Winemaker Dinner on Nov. 18.
Founded in 1861, the Charles Krug Winery was Napa Valley's first winery and
has been in the Peter Mondavi family since 1943.

An outdoor reception began at 6:15 p.m. in the serenity of PAON's outdoor patio.

Finger pastries prepared in the kitchen were savored by guests.

Friends had an opportunity to mingle and get in the mood.

First course was Indian Spiced Hawaiian Prawns made with
organic mixed greens, fennel and yellow pepper sauce -
and paired with 2008 Sauvignon Blanc, Charles Krug, Napa Valley.

Owner Steve Barr carefully approved each plate.

Third course was Provence Herb Crusted Duo of Colorado Lamb
with organic vegetable Byaldi, celery root puree and black olive sauce.

Steve poured wine while guests were served a dessert of
Guiness Stout Ginger Cake with Vanilla Bean Ice Cream (made on the premises)
and Creme Anglais.

Peter chats with Bill Hoehn and friends.

Cheers!
